Irreverence that crosses the decades
Moschino's creative fashion maintained its cult status even after the stylist's death in 1994, when the designer's work came under the direction of Rossella Jardini. At the end of 2013, the American Jeremy Scott took over the creative direction.
It is a benchmark when it comes to imprinting personality on party and day-to-day looks, a new parade is enough for the red carpets and the street style of the main fashion capitals to take over their own pieces and accessories. The masculine style of Moschino is not far behind, as Scott himself, known for his eccentric productions, demonstrates.
Armed with the same irony and acid humor as Moschino, the American designer has continued the brand's irreverent fame. The autumn/winter 2017 collection, presented at Milan Fashion Week, had as its motto: 'Haute couture is attitude, not price'. Based on this concept, he chose to tell the story of a fashionista who had gone broke and was packing up what was left.
Outside the catwalks, the brand also stands out for its playful fashion. The Moschino dresses reveal the brand's DNA, with a provocative design and vibrant colours. Perfectly fitted pieces emphasize feminine contours, while more unstructured knitwear focuses on the details.
Bold graphic prints and a vibrant palette also characterize the latest Moschino top and blouse collection, which also features casual silhouettes. Strongly inspired by pop art, the Moschino t-shirts, in particular, perfectly translate the brand's philosophy. The t-shirts feature innovative prints and bold designs, while the comfortable fit ensures the pieces are casual and versatile.
The irreverent spirit that characterizes the brand Italian extends to accessories. The Moschino bags can be found in large formats and a range of striking and vibrant colors. Matelassé details and metallic touches further enhance the allure of the collection, which includes playful styles like the Pill shoulder bag, shaped like a medicine bottle.
The Moschino belt, in turn, expresses all the maximalist attitude that is also part of the creative fashion of the brand, with a bold and daring color palette. This contemporary and experimental soul is also present in the universe of technology, such as the Moschino line of gadgets, which includes many smartphone cases with prints inspired by cartoons and other elements of pop culture.
The boldness and audacity of the brand's creations conquered the entire world of music and design. Kylie Minogue wore suits from the brand on her Showgirl tour (2005), while Madonna invested in Moschino pieces on her Sticky & Sweet Tour (2008). Six looks were designed by the brand especially for Lady Gaga at The Born This Way Ball, presented between 2011 and 2012.
